A Public Local Inquiry (PLI) is being held to hear objections to the proposed scheme. The PLI will start on 1 July 2008 and is expected to continue for approximately three weeks. The venue for the PLI is shown below.

The PLI will be held before a Reporter appointed by the Scottish Ministers. The Reporter determines how the inquiry is to proceed. Generally he will try to keep proceedings informal whilst ensuring that all parties are able to have their say in an organised and orderly manner. This ensures that the case for and against the published Orders and Environmental Statement is fully tested.
The Reporter will visit the site before, during or after the close of the PLI. Objectors are entitled to attend and the arrangements for the visit will be announced. However, the Reporter will not discuss the merits of the case on the visit.
After the close of the inquiry, the Reporter will produce a report for the Scottish Ministers setting out his conclusions and putting forward recommendations.
